VOLUSIA COUNTY, FL- A Florida man is accused of burning his boss' truck and house after getting fired from his job!

Damion Haywood is charged with two counts of arson Friday, after police say he turned himself in.

Police say the suspect was fired from his job around 11 a.m. Tuesday morning, and just an hour later police accused him of setting his boss's car and house on fire.

79 year old Willie Irven show us the fire damage to his torched dodge pickup truck you can see the busted glass and charred remains of his front windshield

"It's four flat tires on it, busted out windshield and God knows what else the tires were really expensive on this truck," explained Irven.

And it wasn't just the burned truck and slashed tires.

Irven also pointed out the damage on to this side of his house where gas was poured in an attempt to set his house on fire.

But Irven knows the suspect who officers say is responsible. Daytona Beach Police charged 40-year-old Damion Haywood with arson, investigators say Haywood used to work for the victim at a pavement company, but according to the arrest report when he allegedly showed up to work inebriated on Tuesday, Irven had to fire him.

Police say the disgruntled worker came here to his boss's Daytona Beach home and began pouring gas on his house and car, neighbor Johnnie Brown witnessed the crime.

"I called 911, a man just set the truck on fire," recalled Brown.

Tonight Irven says he's grateful to god that the blaze was caught in time, and the damage wasn't worse.

"The good lord did not let everything burn just smoked it up all that's not called for," Irven said.
