COBB COUNTY, Ga. -
The funeral for 22-month-old Cooper Harris who died after being left in a hot car took place on Saturday.
Services were at 1:00 p.m. at University Church of Christ in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. FOX 5 is in Tuscaloosa to follow this story.
A private family burial will be held with Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
On Wednesday, Cobb County investigators revealed more about the case. Father Justin Ross Harris is accused of leaving the 22-month-old alone in the car while he went to work at the Home Depot corporate office for roughly seven hours.?Click here for the latest developments in this case.
Cobb County police announced that the medical examiner believes the cause of the toddler's death is consistent with hyperthermia, or elevated body temperature.
In a statement issued Wednesday afternoon, Cobb County Police Chief John Houser said "I fully understand the emotional impact this case has on the public, and as concerned citizens and parents everyone wants to know how this could happen... In fairness to everyone involved in this emotional case, I would ask that you not make conclusions based on rumor or suspicions and let our judicial system work as it is designed."
