NASA's robot on Mars just finished its first year on the planet - that's 687 days on Earth - and it celebrated with a selfie.

The Curiosity Rover has been looking for the potential for simple life forms on Mars, and it was successful! Samples show that at some point there was water on the planet, which is the most basic element for living organisms.

The rover used the camera at the end of its arm to take the selfie.
