Thousands of people filled AT&T Stadium in Arlington and AT&T Plaza in Victory Park to watch the U.S. National Team play Belgium on Tuesday afternoon.
Officials at AT&T Stadium were expecting about 5,000 people, but one side of the stadium was nearly full with fans watching the World Cup match on the big screen. Stadium officials estimated the final crowd at more than 20,000. Admission and parking was free for the Cowboys-hosted event.
Fans also returned to AT&T Plaza next to the American Airlines Center. FC Dallas sponsored Tuesday’s watch party and hosted an event that attracted thousands at the same spot last Thursday when the U.S. faced Germany.
The U.S. lost in extra time to Belgium, 2-1. World Cup 2018 will be held in Russia.
