Two UNT football players arrested for stealing TVs

Posted: Updated:

Two UNT football players have been charged with theft after stealing televisions from a Walmart.

Shedrell Devante Ellis, 19, and Christopher Devante Loving, 21, have been indefinitely suspended from the University of North Texas.

A Denton Walmart employee said he saw three people acting suspiciously in the electronics department a few weeks ago. Two of the people selected two televisions and putting them in a shopping cart.

Ellis and Loving then left the store through the garden center without paying for the televisions.

The thefts were caught on surveillance camera footage, which police used to identify one of the suspects. He brought in the second suspect when he came to the police department for questioning.

Both Ellis and Loving confessed to the crime and have been charged with Class B misdemeanors.

Ellis is listed as a co-starter at outside linebacker heading into the 2014 season. Loving is a back-up tight end for the Mean Green.
