Morning showers/afternoon storms... still warm and humid

Posted: Updated:

Morning showers north of I-20 should taper off by 10 AM this morning, but another round of developing storms could impact areas in the Metroplex, but especially west as we go through the afternoon today. Light easterly winds 8-12 mph with partly cloudy skies and a high of 92° for the areas that stay dry... areas that see rain may stay a few degrees cooler this afternoon.

Tonight, a lot of Fourth of July events hinge on the possibility of storms, but most should stay dry with only a 20% chance... keep the WAPP handy just in case storms do develop and you're away from home.

Fourth of July brings more low and mid 90s with rain chances shifting south of the Metroplex by the afternoon with mostly sunny skies. Friday evening should be mostly clear and dry as the sun sets and the fireworks get underway.

The weekend brings <10% chance of rain and mostly sunny skies with highs in the mid 90s.
