The Wait For Zumanjaro

Posted: Updated:
Jackson, New Jersey (My9NJ) -

Six Flags Great Adventure’s newest ride, Zumanjaro, is 40 stories high with a 90 mph drop. It was all set to open yesterday, but at the last minute, it didn’t. The problem lies not with the ride itself, but with the state of New Jersey, specifically the Department of Community Affairs Carnival Amusement Ride Safety Unit. The department is hammering out last minute inspections of the ride.

Families, coaster enthusiasts and everyone alike were ready to ride Zumanjaro for its grand opening. But the state department says that safety is the top priority and they weren’t going to take any chances.

Six Flags Spokeswoman Kristin Siebeneicher gave some insight into the situation.

“We’ve completed our review process and all of our engineers and operations and maintenance teams have all finished their work, so we’re just waiting for that green light from the state, Siebeneicher said.

People came from all over to share in Zumanjaro’s opening. Many riders are extremely disappointed.

“I’m a little mad that the inspector of the state could not reach us, and I’ll have to come here next time to ride,” a young rider shared.

While the Department of Community Affairs Carnival Amusement Ride Safety Unit has yet to get back to Great Adventure, many park-goers are hopeful that Zumanjaro will open soon!

StubHub, which is a website that provides services for buyers and sellers for tickets to sporting events, concerts, and other live entertainment events, has been hacked. StubHub is getting a lot of bad press, but the site is really the victim here. The hackers have hacked accounts from other sites, and then used that information to get into the StubHub accounts.
