The New Improved Mountain Creek Water-park

Posted: Updated:
Vernon, New Jersey (My9NJ) -

For Summer 2014, Mountain Creek Park in Vernon, New Jersey has been officially renamed to Action Park. This is mainly because when past visitors hear Mountain Creek they automatically think of the nostalgic, dangerous accounts they experienced in the 80's or 90's.

In the past, Mountain Creek Park was known more for danger than for fun, but according to park officials, the name was changed as a re-branding technique to give a new look to the old water-park and attract people back to this adventurous park. Now, the rides were revised to be much safer for kids of all ages or even adults coming back for more!

President of Mountain Creek, Bill Benneyan, explained the parks standpoint on the overall improvements.

"We kept the thrills and lost the spills. There’s definitely a move to some of the safety. If you watch the lifeguards, as a matter of fact, yesterday we just got back our first independent audit, a safety audit. And this is something we’re very proud of, highest score in 3 years under our operation," he said.

Action Park officials did more then change the name, they made it an even safer environment and took the time to improve it without changing the overall look or change any of the rides that has given several people such great memories in the past.

Some residents of West New York, New Jersey are happy with their beautiful views of Manhattan, but aren’t too happy about the noise that is coming over from the city. Residents who live at the Hudson Club apartment complex at Port Imperial say that the music that reportedly comes from a new concert hall at Pier 97 across the Hudson River in New York City is affecting their quality of life.
