Apartments damaged in two-alarm fire in Grand Prairie

GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas -

Several apartments were damaged in a two-alarm fire overnight in Grand Prairie.

Firefighters responded to the Grand Manor Apartments at 1700 W. Tarrant Road at about 1:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Heavy fire was initially showing from a unit on the second floor. A second alarm was sounded because of the amount of fire.

Firefighters said one unit was destroyed, while several others have smoke and water damage.

One man was in the apartment when the fire started. He safely escaped and called 911. There were no injuries.

The cause is still under investigation.
