PLANO, Texas -
The city of Plano is one of America's healthiest cities and the best place for staying safe, according to a brand new Time Magazine publication.
In the book 10 cities are featured. Plano comes up at or near the top of almost every ranking for safety and low-crime cities in the United States.
The book also mentions the impressive police department and a high level of citizen involvement.
Plano Police Chief Greg Rushin joined Good Day Friday morning to talk about his city.
"This is where I chose to live. I couldn't ask for a better place to live myself. And it's because of everyone working together to try to keep a safe community and try to keep a high quality of life. We have a lot of services. We have a lot of things the city provides as far as park services and that just makes it a great place," he said.
Time's "Healthiest Places to Live" book went on sale Friday. It will be available for the next three months on newsstands across the country.
