DFW-bound plane lands in Tulsa due to engine failure

An American Airlines plane headed to Dallas made an emergency landing in Tulsa, OK on Friday night, an American Airlines spokesperson confirmed.

Flight 79 was coming from London when the left engine on the Boeing 777 reportedly went out with 230 passengers and 14 crewmembers on board.


The plane landed in Tulsa around 6:30 p.m. It had been scheduled to land at DFW Airport at 7:20 p.m.

The plane was taken out of service, and another plane was sent to retrieve the passengers.
