Central American country tries to help its citizens in the DFW area

Posted: Updated:
GARLAND, Texas - The Central American country of Guatemala sent representatives from its Houston Consulate to Garland on Sunday to help illegal immigrants in the DFW area secure documentation that can help them stay in the U.S. legally.

The Consulate comes to the Dallas area every few months to offer free legal advice.  Workers assign and renew passports, I.D. cards, Visas and dual citizenship for children born in the U.S.

Many of the people that are helped by the Consulate say with the current border crisis, they are fearful for what might be in store for them in the future.
