Shutter Huggers Helping Take Better Pictures Of Kids And Dogs

Posted: Updated:

A Nikon camera and an artist's eye allow Megan Garren to freeze human emotion.

"I love taking pictures of people," said Megan Garren, of Sublime Intuition Photography

She's a budding professional, but Megan has enough experience to know the biggest challenges are the smallest subjects.

Like little Callum, who's cooperative, until he's not!

Kids move without warning.

And what kind of pictures does that produce?

"Blurry ones," said Megan.

Here's where the story goes to the dogs!

"Puppies just move waaaay to fast," said amateur photographer, Samantha McProvo.

Samantha is on a mission to help some puppies that are up for adoption.

"They're all rescue dogs," she said.

And the photos Sam shoots will be posted on All Retriever Rescue's Facebook page for prospective puppy parents to ponder.

"They fall in love with the photos of the dogs. And they say 'oh my gosh, I have to have that particular dog,'" Samantha said.

Sam's drawn inspiration from One Picture Saves A Life, an initiative morphing pound puppy mug-shots into heart-tugging prints.

She's an amateur but she has perfected this process with help from an ingenious stuffed animal that wraps around the lens.

For $20, what's called a Shutter Hugger or a Camera Creature captivates canines just long enough to snap an irresistible image.

But what about kids?

"Actually, these were made for kids," Samantha said

Megan's tried it out too, she was instantly impressed, and immediately taking better baby pictures.

Stuffed animals are helping record hyper active history of both humans and beasts!
