Garth Brooks to kick off world tour in Chicago

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Garth Brooks, the man with friends in low places, has chosen the Windy City as his first top on his epic new world tour.

A fan named Andy Roberts was in the audience of a question and answer session with the country star and asked him where the first stop on his tour would be. Brooks told Roberts that he would be the first to know the answer to that question and said he could do "whatever he wanted" with the information.

Brooks stayed true to his word and called Roberts personally Monday to tell him the big news. According to Roberts, the tour will start right here in Chicago!

According to USA Today, Roberts revealed the city at Children's HealthCare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite, an Atlanta children's hospital. He described the country legend as "super-nice and super-easy to talk to."

Tuesday morning, Garth Brooks announced he will take the stage at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont at 7:30 p.m. Trisha Yearwood will also perform at the concert. Tickets for the concert go on sale at 10 a.m. Tuesday morning.

When you think of GQ Magazine, photos of attractive, well-dressed men may come to mind. A Virginia man gracing the pages of the latest edition used to be so ashamed of his appearance that he became a recluse and even covered the mirrors in his house so he wouldn't have to look at his face. Now, he is being celebrated as a medical miracle.
