Second Suspect In Court For Genesis Rincon Murder

Posted: Updated:
Paterson, New Jersey (My9NJ) -

Yesterday, the second individual being charged with first-degree murder in the tragic killing of Genesis Rincon, Jeffery Ellerbee, went before a judge at the Passaic County Courthouse.

This hearing was very different than the previous hearing of Jhymiere Moore that took place late last week as previously reported by Chasing New Jersey. Genesis’ father Alexis Rincon, who has been very outspoken after this tragedy and recently became a community activist, seemed tired and a lot less like an activist and more like a father who’s dealing with the emotional strain of losing a child.

Rincon walked into the courthouse declining to speak to the media. During the hearing he was stone-faced staring directly at the defendant the entire time. Ellerbee did not make eye contact with him. As the Rincon’s left they escaped out of a back exit and didn’t want to address the community or the press at that time.

Inside the courtroom the charges for Ellerbee were first-degree murder along with a handful of weapons offenses. He continues to be held on $2 million bail and the judge says that if they seek a reduction hearing then she’s going to require that they prove the source of income for any money used to make sure that it’s all legal.

During the hearing the defense pointed out that much like Jhymiere Moore, Ellerbee also has no record. So even if these individuals are convicted of first-degree murder, it appears that this may have been isolated behavior.

The Palisades Interstate Parkway is getting a facelift and many drivers say that it’s long overdue! It’s been over 20 years since the roadway has gotten any cosmetic work and the massive potholes and cracks throughout the road make it a nightmare for commuters. The construction is an $11.2 million project that is completely state funded.
