PORTAGE, Ind. (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

A pickup rolled over Wednesday morning and dumped a 7,000-pound high-pressure water pump onto I-94 in northwest Indiana.

The 2008 Dodge Ram, with the water pump hitched to the rear, was eastbound on I-94 near Portage, Ind., when the driver lost control about 6:50 a.m., according to Indiana State Police.

The pickup went off the road, back onto the road, and the water pump became separated from the pickup and flipped over, police said. The truck then went into a ditch and rolled onto its right side.

The driver and two passengers in the pickup were not injured, police said. The driver was cited for having an insecure load.

The eastbound lanes of I-94 were temporarily closed after the crash, but all lanes were reopened as of 8:30 a.m., with significant delays, police said.
