CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

A man died after he was tased by a Chicago Police officer Saturday afternoon in the Brighton Park neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

Police were called at 2:06 p.m. to a home in the 4200 block of South Richmond Street, where Francisco Rocha, 41, was involved in a fight with several other males, according to police and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.

Officers trying to break up the fight were unable to control Rocha and a Taser was deployed, police said.

Rocha, of the 3500 block of West 38th Place, was taken to Saint Anthony Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 2:58 p.m., authorities said.

An autopsy Sunday was inconclusive pending further studies and investigation, according to the medical examiner’s office.

The Independent Police Review Authority is investigating.
