PHOENIX (KSAZ) - It's been five days since a powerful macro burst swept through a north Phoenix neighborhood leaving behind a ton of damage.

And for some residents in the area they are still cleaning up, others haven't even had a chance to survey the damage to their homes because they're out of town.

Robert Riley explained how his neighbor Kathie felt when she learned the storm caused the destruction.

She's on vacation in Florida, and that's where she was when two of her trees came crashing into her home Saturday night.

Across the neighborhood, clean-up crews do what they can to help residents return to normal after the macroburst.

"The wind was coming through, then the rain, and then just all of a sudden the hail and it was pounding so hard we couldn't even talk," said Robert Riley.

The storm continues to give neighbors something to talk about while limbs are scattered on streets and tarps cover rooftops.

"All the leaves on the east side of the tree are gone," said Barchus.

John Barchus also lost trees and needs some repairs made due to the hail that damaged A/C units and blasted off paint.

"It just takes time I know for all these things to be orchestrated, we have tree people coming tomorrow to clean up all the trees that are down, we'll have to interview contractors, painters, and things like that to repaint the side of the house that was facing all the hail that came down," he said.

According to the National Weather Service, wind speeds in the same area hit 80 miles per hour.
