Extra-alarm fire reported in Little Village

CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

An extra-alarm fire broke out in a Little Village pallet yard late Thursday.

The fire was reported about 11:15 p.m. in the 2500 block of West 25th Street, according to Fire Media Affairs. The factory within the pallet yard was a designated Red X building – a vacant building with structural hazards.

Shortly after the blaze was reported, it was upgraded from a single-alarm to a 2-alarm fire, according to fire media. By 12:10 a.m. Friday, it was listed as a 3-alarm fire.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
