Woman crashes into Phoenix house

Posted: Updated:
PHOENIX (KSAZ) - A scary sight this morning when a woman accidentally backed her car into a house. It left the homeowner with a lot of damage to repair.

"I just saw smoke outside, and I came outside and heard a big boom," said Brisa Garcia.

Neighbors heard the commotion outside when a Jaguar crashed into a home near 25th Ave & San Miguel.

Witnesses say a woman was in her car alone across the street when she put her car in reverse and hit the accelerator, sending the car barreling backwards.

"She was just trying to move the car forward that's what she said, but she put it in the wrong gear and it went straight back," she said.

The car slammed through a wall and went into the back bedroom. It caused some serious damage and luckily there was no one inside the room inside at the time. The driver also escaped injury in the crash.

"She was a little scared, shaky, but thank god she's ok," said Garcia.

Her name wasn't immediately released, but police say she was cited for driving without a license and her car was impounded.

The Associated Press contributed to this story.
