'Into the Storm' filmed entirely in metro Detroit

PONTIAC, Mich. (WJBK) - Two years ago, a tornado completely tore up Pontiac ... sort of. The new film 'Into the Storm' was filmed entirely in metro Detroit.

A reported $12 million in film tax incentives was given to the project, which spend a reported $40 million in the state. The production employed 416 Michigan residents.

Oakview Middle School in Lake Orion was also featured in the movie. Several local business in Pontiac were also featured in the film.

It was being filmed under the name 'Black Sky.'
