It's proof that just a small act of kindness can go a long, long way.
When Publix worker Gage Boucher reached down to tie a man's shoe, he had no idea anyone was watching.
Days later, his gesture that happened in Ormond Beach is going viral across the Internet.
It's no secret that Publix prides itself on good customer service, and it seems the 20-year-old is just another example of that.
A Publix spokesman told FOX 13 today that they're proud of Boucher's gesture, adding that he's a "naturally laid back young man." We're hoping to speak to Boucher, who was not scheduled to work today.
The man who uploaded it is Keith Kiel. He posted it on Facebook, where it took off. It's been shared more than 2,200 times, along with this message:
"I shopped at Publix tonight at Ormond Towne Square and saw this random act of kindness by a Publix employee. I took it quickly and I found out the employee's name later from his manager. An old man could not reach down to tie his shoe so not only did Gage tie the one but he did the other as well; all with a smile. I thought he should be recognized for his actions. Here is the picture I snapped on my iPhone."
