PHOENIX - Two men are behind bars after they reportedly kidnapped a woman and beat her up, all because she refused to enter the world of prostitution.

31 year-old John Suggs and 30 year-old Justin Johnson are both behind bars tonight. Accused of being pimps and trying to force a woman into becoming a prostitute.

Before becoming inmates, the men were living a lavish lifestyle. They were arrested at their home in an upscale, Scottsdale neighborhood last night.

"That's frightening, I have my daughters and granddaughter that are here," said Troy Rice.

Troy Rice lives next door to the home where a 34 year-old woman was allegedly beaten and held hostage, all because she refused to work as a prostitute.

Rice said he didn't know what went on behind closed doors, but he was suspicious of his neighbor, John Suggs.

"Cars coming and going at night, activity at night which several times I'd have to ask for it to be quieted down, because people were sleeping... this particular accusation, I would have suspected other things, not that... some kind of drug activity," said Rice.

Rice said Suggs moved into this lifestyle Scottsdale neighborhood about a year ago and was seen recently driving a new Maserati.

"He was a sports marketer and ran events in China, and what was why they were up late at night," he said.

Police say the victim was put in the trunk of a Maserati that was inside the garage for an extended period of time. And it didn't end there, police say they took her inside the home, into a bathroom and beat her more.

Suggs eventually dropped the victim off to Paradise Valley Hospital.

"They beat her unconcious several times, she was injured and required numerous stitches, about 20 stitches or so... she came in contact with both these individuals who then tried to get her into a life of prostitution against her will" said Sgt. Steve Martos.
