Three killed in plane crash near Cook Canyon Ranch Airport

A single engine aircraft crashed in Eastland County, west of Fort Worth around midnight Saturday. According to law enforcement, all three people on the plane died. The Texas Department of Public Safety has identified the victims as John Weaver, his wife Debra and their daughter Courtney Weaver. Texas DPS says John Weaver was piloting the plane when it went down after take off from Cook Canyon Ranch Airport near the city of Ranger.

The plane went down in a wooded area about three miles northwest of Ranger.

The FAA and NTSB investigators began their investigation Sunday morning.

Texas DPS says John and Debra Weaver are from Granbury; their daughter lived in Plano.
