DETROIT (WJBK) - A man has died after being struck by a train, according to police and morgue officials.

It happened Tuesday morning near the intersection of Montrose Street and Tireman avenue, which is near Greenfield Road.

We're told the CSX train struck the man while he was riding his bike across the tracks. He was taken to the hospital by a Dearborn rescue team.

A morgue official tells Fox 2 the victim is deceased, although police are still saying the man's condition is unknown.

The train is remaining on the tracks while police investigate and authorities are asking pedestrians to avoid the area.
