CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

According to a new survey, the Tooth Fairy is leaving a little less money for her newly-toothless friends than she did in 2013.

The survey says that the Tooth Fairy leaves about $3.40 for each tooth she finds under a pillow. That number is down $3.70 from the previous year.

Although that number may be down, the Tooth Fairy is still leaving more than she in 2012.

Experts say in 2013, she tended to leave a $20 bill for children, but that trend has been significantly cut back.

Fathers are more likely to panic and leave whatever they have in their wallet whereas mothers are more deliberate in determining Tooth Fairy spending, USA Today reports.
