Phoenix police Sergeant accused of shoplifting

PHOENIX (KSAZ) - A Phoenix police Sergeant has resigned following his arrest on charges of shoplifting.

Phoenix Police say that Sgt. Mike Gurry resigned Tuesday afternoon.

Gurry according to police, tried to steal goods from a Hobby Lobby store in Phoenix.

Officers who responded detained him and cited him for shoplifting.

Sgt. Gurry is a 29 year veteran of the Phoenix Police Department, he worked at the Black Mountain Precinct.
