Posted: Updated:
FORT WORTH, Texas - An 18-wheeler that was fully loaded with wine caught fire on Interstate 35W in Fort Worth Thursday morning.

It's not yet clear what caused the early morning crash near Western Center Boulevard. The resulting flames were visible from nearby traffic cameras.

The Fort Worth Fire Department said six fire units were sent to put out the flames. They were partially fueled by the 41,000 pounds or 1,200 cases of bottled wine in the trailer.

The driver was not seriously hurt.

The accident caused significant traffic backups in the area and drivers were encouraged to avoid the area.
