DETROIT (WJBK) - Antonio Wymes paid his water bills on time, but service was still shut off to his Detroit barber shop.

The problem was that the business next door was behind on its bill.

The owner of Brooks Barbershop in Detroit says he got a pay cut today after his water was shut off by the Detroit Water and Sewerage Department.

"I'm paying the bill on time," Wymes said. "And we can't make any money."

"We can't wash hair, I had clients who walked out," Wymes said. "I am losing all types of money today. We don't have any water."

Frustrated, Wymes called Fox 2 for help.

The water department sent Fox 2 a statement reading in part:

"The DWSD is currently looking into ways that we can identify accounts that share the same water line prior to the disconnection of any accounts for non-payment or other reasons.
