ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KMSP) -

It's been 40 years since two sisters disappeared and were found murdered in St. Cloud. Investigators are still searching for the killer and the family is waiting for answers -- but they do so with a song.

INVESTIGATORS: From heartbreak to hope

In 2004, Rita Reker wrote a song about her daughters' deaths and recorded it with family and friends. She sent the track to a number of radio stations and hoped someone would hear the tune and come forward with information to solve the crime; however, Reker told the Fox 9 Investigators she doesn't believe any stations ever did play it on air.

In the four decades that have passed since Mary and Sue Reker died, a lot of things have changed. Radio isn't the only source of music, and the Internet brings a whole new host of options for sharing messages, files, and more. With that in mind, the Fox 9Investigatorss edited lyrics over Reker's track to create an exclusive music video released on the Fox 9 News YouTube channel.

LYRICS: Anniversary Song for Mary and Sue

Anyone with information relating to the murders of Mary and Sue Reker is urged to call Tri-County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-255-1301.
